Tales of Old: Dominus is an open-world RPG set in a dark medieval kingdom. Corrupt nobles introduced Prima Nocta rights, sparking a rebellion among the poor and a small group of just nobles. The rebels fought hard but were defeated at the Battle of the Brides, where most were killed and the rest scattered.

You play as Eric of Woldham, a survivor of that battle. He returns home to find his village burned, his people dead, and his sister taken by the victors. His story is one of revenge, starting from nothing and working toward bringing down the nobles who destroyed everything he had.

Eric begins as an anonymous survivor with little power. Over time, he rises to become a kingmaker in a kingdom rotting from the top. The story takes him from the ashes of his village all the way into the halls of nobility, following a grim path driven by loss and anger.

Combat in the game is brutal and close. Players use period-accurate weapons to fight enemies up close or take them down from a distance with arrows and bolts. The game also includes stealth mechanics, so players can avoid direct fights when needed. Blood is a real part of every encounter.

Beyond fighting, the game expands into larger-scale activities. Players can build villages, manage a domain, and lead troops in a second rebellion against the corrupt nobles. Survival and resource management also play a role in the experience. The game covers a wide range of activities, from small personal fights to leading an organized uprising against those in power.
