One day, a mysterious message arrives from an old childhood friend. It points you toward Castle Woods Sanatorium, a place full of dark secrets waiting to be uncovered.

The story begins when you decide to pack your bags and travel to Castle Woods. You go there chasing what might be the biggest tip of your career. The game is set during a time of great change, when cities were growing fast and new technology was reshaping society. You are someone who has been left behind by all of it.

Once inside the sanatorium, your job is to study patients and figure out what is wrong with them. New patient files arrive every week, and you must choose the right tests to spot their symptoms. You also decide which treatments to use. The puzzle-solving side of the game asks you to think carefully and trust your instincts.

One of the most interesting parts of the game is the moral side. You can follow the official rules or try experimental treatments with unknown results. You also get to decide how you treat patients. You can be kind and caring, or you can be cold and cruel. These two paths lead the game in very different directions.
