Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin – Deluxe Edition is an RPG set in the Monster Hunter universe. You play as the grandchild of a legendary Rider named Red, whose Monstie was Guardian Ratha, the protector of Hakolo Island. The story begins on a festival night when Rathalos start disappearing all over the world.

You meet a Wyverian girl named Ena, who once knew your grandfather Red. She carries an egg that Guardian Ratha entrusted to her. To keep it safe, you and Ena leave Hakolo Island together. Strange things are happening everywhere, and you must figure out what is causing these abnormalities. When the egg finally hatches, a flightless Rathalos with small wings emerges.

Monsters you befriend become your Monsties and travel with you as loyal companions. The game features a wide range of monsters, including Brachydios, Seregios, Nargacuga, Tigrex, Zinogre, Kushala Daora, and Teostra. You can build a party using the monsters you collect and bond with along the way.

Monster Dens appear randomly on the field and contain eggs for you to find. Some dens are rare and harder to find, but they hold special eggs with unique monsters or hard-to-find genes. After leaving a den safely, you bring the egg to the Stables to hatch a new Monstie.

The Deluxe Edition includes content that may also be part of separate bundles on Steam. The game recommends checking previous purchases before buying to avoid getting duplicate content. This edition offers the full RPG experience with all the monster-raising and riding features the base game provides.
