Afterlove EP: Deluxe Edition is set in the vibrant city of Jakarta, Indonesia. It combines visual novel, narrative adventure, and rhythm game aspects. Players follow Rama, a young musician dealing with the loss of his girlfriend, Cinta. Despite support from friends and bandmates, Rama struggles to move forward, neglecting his music and relationships.

Rama hears Cinta’s voice, unsure if it’s a spirit or his imagination. His band faces a critical gig in a month, and Rama must deliver new songs or risk losing his place. Over twenty-eight days, players make decisions that influence Rama’s path, exploring Jakarta and choosing which relationships to mend or pursue anew.

The game offers side-scrolling exploration of modern Jakarta, allowing players to engage in conversations with characters and participate in rhythm game sections with Rama’s band. The art style is manga-inspired, crafted by Indonesian artist Soyatu, and the music is composed by indie band L’Alphalpha.

Afterlove EP is part of the Indonesian indie game development scene, aiming to present a genuine view of urban life in Indonesia. The game is the final project of narrative designer Mohammad Fahmi, who passed away in March 2022. Pikselnesia, the indie studio founded by Fahmi, developed this heartfelt project.
