Grand Soul Saga is a nonlinear, character-driven JRPG that places players in the midst of a crumbling city-state called DuPont. After escaping a violent insurrection in their home country, players find themselves navigating a complex environment ruled by technocrats, drug cartels, and a mysterious cybernetic entity known as “The Eye of God.” The game focuses on human connection, growth, and choice, offering multiple endings based on player decisions.

Players are accompanied by a diverse crew of smugglers, alchemists, and wanderers as they journey westward to Yerdan, a distant port-city where their surviving family may be waiting. The game offers an open quest structure, encouraging exploration in a semi-open world. Every NPC interaction is hand-crafted, ensuring that each encounter is unique and contributes to the storyline.

The combat system in Grand Soul Saga is turn-based and offers an old-school challenge without random battles.
