📚 Erma: The Game Overview

Erma The Game is a point-and-click adventure game based on the comedy horror webcomic created by Brandon Santiago. You play as Erma Williams, a young half-human, half-ghost girl who uses her supernatural abilities for everyday situations. The game is inspired by classic adventure games like Pajama Sam.

The story begins when Erma and her friend Amy are working on a science fair project where they attempt to create life Frankenstein-style using a spell book. The experiment goes wrong and explodes, scattering body parts across Erma’s hometown of Blairwood. You must explore five areas around town to recover two legs, two arms, and a torso before the science fair deadline.

The gameplay involves clicking to navigate environments and interact with objects and characters. You collect items and store them in Erma’s hair, which serves as your inventory. You need to figure out what different townspeople want, then trade or combine items to convince them to return the body parts they found. The game includes four minigames that you replay in different variations.

Erma can hover, float in mid-air, and materialize out of technology like televisions. She uses these ghostly powers to scare people and solve problems. The game presents mostly black-and-white cartoon visuals with red accents for emphasis, matching the original webcomic style.

The game features animated cutscenes with new and familiar characters from the Erma comics. All dialogue is fully animated, and you can replay cutscenes. The world includes many references to horror media for fans to discover as they explore. Mouse controls handle all gameplay, with only the ESC key needed for exiting.
