Rift of the NecroDancer is an all-new rhythm game where Cadence finds herself in a strange new environment. She must battle monsters that pour in through the Rift. Every monster has its own unique behavior, such as bats that shift lanes when attacked. Some enemies require multiple hits to be defeated, making it crucial to learn their patterns.

The game features a brand new soundtrack with over 40 tracks by renowned artists like Danny Baranowsky, Jules Conroy, Alex Moukala, Josie Brechner, Sam Webster, and Nick Nausbaum. Players can expect more tracks to be added in the future. The game offers four intensity levels for each Rhythm Rift: EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, and IMPOSSIBLE, allowing players to choose their preferred challenge.

Rift of the NecroDancer encourages players to climb global leaderboards. It also allows for custom music creation, enabling players to make their own beat maps using the same developer tools used by the game designers. This feature provides an opportunity for players to personalize their gameplay experience.
