Yakuza Kiwami 2 follows Kazuma Kiryu, a former Tojo Clan member who had found peace with a young girl named Haruka Sawamura. That peace ends when Yukio Terada, the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, is shot and killed. This single event pulls Kiryu back into the dangerous criminal underworld he tried to leave behind.

Kiryu travels to Sotenbori, Osaka, to stop a war between rival clans. Standing in his way is Ryuji Goda, called the Dragon of Kansai. Ryuji wants war and will not back down. Both men carry the title of dragon, but only one can hold it. This clash drives the story forward with real tension.
