Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is a prequel to the Yakuza series. It follows two main characters: Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. Kiryu is a yakuza member, and Majima runs a cabaret club. The story takes place in Tokyo and Osaka, and both men have connected fates that shaped who they became.

The game is set in Japan in 1988. Players can explore neon-lit entertainment districts in both cities. There is a lot to do outside of fighting. You can visit discos, play darts, enjoy classic SEGA arcade games, and spend time at cabaret clubs. The cities are busy and full of activity.

Combat is a big part of the game. Kiryu and Majima can both switch between three fighting styles during a fight. Players can use their fists or pick up weapons nearby. The Director’s Cut version adds new content that was not in the original game. There are new cutscenes that give more background on key events and characters. These scenes help players better understand the story and the people in it. This version is described as the definitive edition of the game.

A new online multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid is also part of the Director’s Cut. Up to a group of friends can play together in this mode. Players can pick from 60 playable characters and fight against large groups of enemies. This adds a cooperative option that was not part of the original Yakuza 0 release.
