As their work continues, the team uncovers hidden criminal activity, political conflict, and dangerous secrets connected to the city.

The adventure takes place across many parts of Crossbell, including streets, shops, apartments, offices, hospitals, schools, forests, caves, and ancient ruins. Talking with local residents provides useful information for investigations and side requests. Battles use a tactical combat style where party members move across the battlefield before attacking enemies with weapons, skills, and magical Arts. Team attacks allow nearby party members to fight together against stronger opponents. New equipment, quartz, and useful items help improve combat abilities during later chapters.

Many side requests become available while exploring the city and nearby areas. Completing these requests helps the Special Support Section build a stronger reputation among the people of Crossbell. Fishing, cooking, treasure chests, books, and hidden collectibles provide extra activities outside the main story. Character abilities become stronger by earning experience and improving equipment before facing more dangerous enemies. The campaign combines investigation, tactical battles, character improvement, and city exploration while following the Special Support Section as they protect Crossbell from growing threats.
