📚 The Bad Kids Overview

The Bad Kids is a single-player adventure and puzzle game adapted from the popular Chinese suspense TV series called Cat’s Cradle, also known as “隐秘的角落” in Chinese. The game builds original stories based on the TV series, with a focus on the inner world of the characters. Scenes are built using 3D technology with a unique design of colours, light, and shadow to create a dark and fearful environment.

The player takes on the role of Zhu Chaoyang, a junior high school student who faces an unimaginable nightmare. The story shows themes of a broken family, false friendship, and the greedy side of human nature. The game explores these themes from the perspective of a child and shows the coldness of the adult world. The player will uncover how Zhu Chaoyang responds after being exposed to darkness, and the story’s ending is determined by the player’s actions.

The gameplay includes puzzle solving, exploration, investigation, logical reasoning, and interactive performance. Players collect scattered clues and fragments in the 3D environment to piece together the hidden truth. The gameplay is closely connected to the original story and leads the player to the final confrontation with the story’s villain. The game is divided into 5 chapters: a preface, Chapter 1 – Mom, Chapter 2 – Dad, Chapter 3 – Friends, and the Final Chapter.

The Bad Kids includes 41 achievements and supports Steam Cloud. A free demo is also available to download separately on Steam. The game supports three languages: English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Full audio is available only in Chinese. ⚙️ Installation Instructions
