Pull Stay is a beat ’em up brawler where players learn new moves by engaging with various enemy types. The game features a young man named Susumu, who is a hikikomori, a term used in Japan for individuals who avoid social interactions and remain isolated. Enemies approach Susumu with different intentions, ranging from concern to curiosity about his lifestyle.

In Pull Stay, players can unlock 15 types of gadgets, such as the Baked Fish Missile, Toothpaste Turret, and Watermelon Bazooka. These gadgets serve as traps to defend against incoming enemies. Players can also break into neighbors’ houses to gather resources, which are then used to set traps or construct new rooms for Susumu’s house.

Susumu can create power-up items, but players must monitor his focus. If he starts goofing off, a gentle nudge is needed to get him back on track. The game ends if enemies reach Susumu, though the exact consequences are left to the player’s imagination. This adds an element of urgency to the gameplay.

Pull Stay also includes encounters with various bosses. These bosses may appear strange, but their tactics should not be underestimated. Players must devise strategies to counter these unique challenges. The game’s mechanics and quirky elements offer a distinct experience centered around Susumu’s life as a hikikomori.
