📚 POOLS Overview

POOLS is a unique PC game that offers an experience akin to exploring an art gallery. The game focuses on the exploration of spaces with minimal objectives, featuring a few mazes that may test your navigation skills. It is devoid of monsters or sudden jump scares, but it creates an oppressive environment by playing on fears of getting lost, darkness, and confined spaces.

The game is designed without a user interface or dialogue, and it does not include background music. Instead, POOLS uses ambient sounds that change based on the room you are in, enhancing the sense of presence. Walking in water is deliberately slower, contributing to the game’s realistic feel. This approach helps in creating a tense atmosphere that is central to the game’s design.

POOLS does not follow a conventional story structure, nor does it include characters or notes to discover. As players explore, they will notice changes in the environment, with rooms appearing and feeling altered. This transformation is a key aspect of the gameplay, as each chapter introduces something new. The base game includes six chapters, each taking between 10 to 30 minutes to complete.

The game draws inspiration from internet phenomena like “Liminal spaces,” “Found footage,” and “Backrooms,” specifically “Backrooms Pools” or “Poolrooms.” One of the original artists associated with the Poolrooms concept is Jared Pike. Additional inspirations for POOLS include Matt Studios’ Poolrooms videos from 2022, Mortain Colors, Anemoiapolis: Chapter 1 by Andrew Quist, and Kane Pixels’ The Backrooms (Found Footage).

⚙️ Installation Instructions

We have simple instructions for downloading and installing the POOLS torrent game on your Windows operating system. The procedure is the same for all Windows operating systems. Before proceeding, ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements to play the Game.

You must have zip file extracting software and torrent software installed on your PC. If you do not have these two software programs installed on your PC, then you will first need to download and install the two software programs on your PC before following the steps.

You can use any zip file extracting software and torrent software, (We recommend "WinRAR" and "qBittorrent" Software). WinRAR / 7-Zip / µTorrent Classic / qBittorrent (64-bit) / qBittorrent (32-bit).

Follow the simple instructions:

1. First, click on the "Torrent Download" button, and download the torrent POOLS.zip file on your PC.
2. Right-click on the POOLS.zip file and click on the "extract here" option from the dropdown menu.
3. Double click on the .torrent file. Then, choose the download folder.
4. After Download Completed, Open the POOLS Game folder.
5. Double-click on the Setup.exe file.
6. Follow the on-screen installation wizard to install the game on your PC.
7. You may need to provide administrator permissions for the installation to proceed. If asked, click Yes to continue.

If you get any missing dll errors or the game is not launching, then Download Redist File and install all programs available in the "Redist" folder.

Done!. Now you can launch the game from your desktop.
