📚 Monkey Barrels Overview

Monkey Barrels is an action-packed twin-stick shooter that pits monkeys against crabs. In this game, a little monkey named Kotetsu is abducted by Crabbenwold Electric, an evil electronics manufacturer responsible for wiping out the human race. Kotetsu’s friends, Masaru and Hanako, lead an all-out assault to rescue him from the clutches of their crab enemies.

Players will encounter waves of weaponized electronic devices as they navigate through the game. Monkey Barrels features 98 outrageous weapons, all fashioned from household objects like bottles, cans, blow dryers, and umbrellas. Players can equip up to four weapons at once, including two main weapons such as guns and two sub weapons like grenades or shields.

The game introduces a unique “WILD POWER” meter that fills up when players take damage. Once full, players can unleash a super move that wipes out surrounding enemies and projectiles. This feature adds a strategic element to the gameplay, allowing players to turn the tide during intense battles. The single-player story mode is robust, with a giant bullet-heck battle at the end of every area.

In addition to the single-player mode, Monkey Barrels offers a multiplayer mode called “Banana Scramble.” This mode allows four to six participants to engage in monkey vs. monkey PvP battles online. The game encourages experimentation with weapon combinations to find the loadout that best suits individual playing styles, providing a personalized approach to combat.
