Hi-Fi RUSH is an action game where everything moves to the beat of the music. The characters, combat, and even the environment sync with the rhythm. You play as Chai, a wannabe rockstar who fights against a powerful robotics enhancement megacorp. Chai is not alone — he has a ragtag team of allies helping him rebel against this corporation.

The combat in Hi-Fi RUSH is built around music and rhythm. You attack, dodge, and chain moves in time with the beat. The game comes from Tango Gameworks, the studio behind The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo. It is a big change from those games, but the quality and creativity are still very clear.

The Deluxe Edition includes The Arcade Challenge! Update, which adds two new game modes for free. It also comes with new rewards and a few secrets to uncover. These additions give players more to do after finishing the main story. The update expands the game without changing what made it fun to begin with.

The first new mode is BPM RUSH. In this mode, you fight waves of enemies while the BPM, or beats per minute, keeps going up. It starts at a normal speed and can reach up to 200 BPM in the final stages. The faster the beat, the harder the combat becomes.

The second mode is Power Up! Tower Up!, a twist on the Rhythm Tower mode. You climb floors and defeat waves of enemies, but Chai starts in a weakened state. Random upgrades are given to you as you go, so no two runs are exactly the same. It is a fun and replayable challenge.
