Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark is a demonic Metroidvania adventure that serves as a sequel to Gal Guardians: Demon Purge. In this game, players will control two sisters, Kirika and Masha, who possess unique playstyles. Kirika uses demonic guns for long-range attacks, while Masha wields a whip for close combat. Players must switch between the sisters to navigate vast areas and defeat enemies.

The game takes place in the Demon Realm, where players search for hidden passages and trap doors to collect the scattered bones of the Demon Lord Maxim. Unlocking sub-weapons and abilities is essential to explore new routes and strategies. As players revive Maxim’s vassals, these characters will strengthen the home base, the Demon Lord’s castle, offering bonus support features.

In the gameplay, players can collect items from enemies and treasure chests. These items include consumable items, sub-weapons, and passive enhancements known as Demon Relics. Players can use these to unlock special abilities for the sisters and access new map areas. Sub-weapons can be combined and customized, making use of items that might otherwise be discarded.

Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark features a “Style” system, allowing players to choose between “Casual,” “Veteran,” and “Legend” modes. Players can switch styles at any time, and all game content remains accessible regardless of the chosen mode.
