Demonschool: Deluxe Edition is a tactics RPG where players control Faye and a group of misfit companions. The story takes place between the human and demon worlds on a mysterious island. Players attend university while also fighting strange and powerful enemies. The game uses a light horror tone told with large character avatars on screen.

Combat works by planning movements before acting. Players place their units, then watch all actions happen at once. During the planning phase, any action can be rewound and changed. Units react to their surroundings, striking enemies, moving objects, or dashing based on what is nearby.

Combining attacks from multiple characters creates combos. These combos deal heavy damage and produce elemental attacks. Players can use these elements to hit enemy weak points. Buffing friendly units and debuffing enemies also increases the total damage dealt, which is shown clearly with damage numbers.

Outside of combat, players manage a university schedule. This schedule is used to level up characters and build their skills. The island changes across morning, noon, and night. As days and weeks pass over a full university semester, new secrets about the island are slowly uncovered.

The Deluxe Edition includes the full game along with its side content. There are 15 characters available to build relationships with. These friendships develop as players spend time with companions between battles. The mix of school scheduling, relationship building, and tactical combat gives the game a structure that stays busy from start to finish.
