Children of Morta is an action role-playing game where you play as the Bergson family. This family lives on a mountain called Mount Morta and they fight against a dark corruption that is slowly spreading across the land.

The game is a dungeon crawler where you move through randomly generated levels full of monsters and traps. You fight enemies using fast combat moves and special abilities. The levels change on every run, so the layout is never the same.

You can play as several members of the Bergson family. John is the father and uses a sword and shield. Linda is the mother and fights with a bow from a distance. Mark is the eldest son and attacks very fast with daggers. Joey uses a hammer for heavy hits. Lucy controls fire magic. Kevin uses totems and spirit powers. Each family member has their own skills that you can upgrade as you play more.

A very special thing about this game is the family bond system. When one family member plays more, other family members also get some stat bonuses. So the whole family becomes stronger together over time.

The story is told by a narrator who speaks during gameplay and between levels. The narration adds emotion and connects you to the Bergson family story. You learn about the family members and their lives as you keep playing.

The game also has a Dead Cells crossover content and additional DLC called “Paws and Claws” and “Last Hope” that add more story content and new playable characters.
