Benign Land is an otherworldly walking simulator that takes players on a surreal journey through Ireland’s rich myths, history, and collective memory. This game invites exploration through 17 evocative scenes, each representing a significant period in Irish history. From ancient pagan sites to the rise of Christianity, and from the Irish Famine to the echoes of the Troubles, Benign Land offers a unique narrative experience.

The game is designed as a short 30-45 minute experience, focusing on a dreamlike, slow-paced, and meditative exploration. Players traverse landscapes rich in Irish symbolism, such as the Maze Prison, also known as ‘Long Kesh’. The journey is cyclical, with players locating and stepping through ‘thresholds’ that transport them to the next chapter, creating a looping narrative structure.

Benign Land features an abstract narrative that is told through metaphors, symbolism, and visual poetry. The game creates a hallucinatory atmosphere, making players feel as if they are wandering through a dream, vision, or even an after-death experience. ⚙️ Installation Instructions
