Tempest Rising: Deluxe Edition is a base-building real-time strategy game set in a modern-day alternative history. The story takes place on a war-torn Earth where mysterious vines called Tempest have spread across the planet. Two major factions fight to control these vines, and a third hidden danger waits in the shadows.

Players can command two factions: the Global Defense Forces (GDF) and the Tempest Dynasty. The GDF is a mobile and advanced peacekeeping force, while the Tempest Dynasty is a harder-hitting and more desperate army. Both factions have their own units, strategies, and two unique superweapons. A third playable faction, the Veti, will be added in the future.

The game includes two single-player campaigns, each with 11 missions. Before each mission, players can customize their army to match how they want to play. Voiced mission briefings are included to help tell the story. The campaigns follow both armies as they try to understand and take control of the Tempest vines.

Outside of the campaigns, players can compete in multiplayer modes. These include 1v1 and 2v2 matchmaking, as well as custom games against AI opponents. Ranked matchmaking uses the Glicko-2 rating system to match players fairly and track skill over time.

Skirmish mode lets players battle solo with up to 500 units per team. This mode supports a large number of units on the map at once, making battles feel large in scale. The Deluxe Edition is built for players who enjoy classic RTS gameplay with modern performance and visual quality, offering a strong mix of single-player and competitive content.
