Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit is a new action platformer built around the AVGN universe. The game puts you in control of The Nerd, the famous angry character known for reviewing terrible old video games. You blast your way across pixel art levels while fighting off waves of enemies.

The enemies you face include zombies, mechanical skeletons, and ghoulish reapers. The levels are inspired by the AVGN universe, and the enemies match the theme of each level. You can slide below platforms, grab power-ups, and take alternate routes to reach the end of a level.

After you defeat a major enemy in Endless Challenge, you visit a character called the Game Weenie. This character gives you either a helpful item or a curse that makes things harder. You do not get to choose which one you receive, so there is always a risk involved.

There is also a hidden enemy that only shows up in Endless Challenge. The game does not tell you when or where it appears. Finding it requires careful attention and persistence as you push further into the mode.
