Asterix and Obelix leave their Gaulish village to travel to the Parthian Empire, a distant kingdom facing a Roman invasion. Their goal is to save Monipehni, the King of the Parthians. He has been poisoned by Bahmbuhzeli, a sorcerer working alongside Caesar. The two heroes must find the ingredients needed to make an antidote before it is too late.

Along the way, Asterix and Obelix fight Roman legionaries who try to stop them at every turn. They also help local villagers they meet during their travels. The game stays true to the spirit of the original comics, with plenty of slaps, laughs, and clever moments that fans will enjoy.

The game takes players across four distinct areas, each with its own look and style. One of these is Babylon, a legendary city that appears in the game as a brand-new destination. The levels are built around the unique features of each location, making every area look and feel visually separate from the last.

There are twenty levels in total, and players can replay them after finishing. The game includes a variety of enemies across these levels, so combat stays varied. Players will also face powerful bosses who require more effort to defeat than regular Roman soldiers.
