📚 Nioh 3 Overview

Nioh 3 is a dark samurai action role-playing game that continues the series while introducing major changes. The game happens across four historical periods in Japan: Edo, Warring States, Heian, and Bakumatsu. You fight against a dangerous force called the Crucible that threatens all these timelines.

The main new feature is the dual combat style. You can instantly switch between Samurai Style and Ninja Style during fights. Samurai Style uses powerful techniques to break enemy defenses and relies on traditional weapons and armor. Ninja Style focuses on speed, evasion, and aerial attacks with ninja tools replacing weapon stances. The Ninja mode uses Mist instead of Ki Pulse, which creates a clone to distract enemies while you dash behind them for big damage.

Unlike earlier games in the series, Nioh 3 uses an open field design instead of linear levels. You can freely explore large zones and discover side activities, optional combat challenges, and points of interest. This gives more freedom while maintaining the tense combat the series is known for.

You face yokai monsters, explore dangerous villages, and visit multiple historical eras. Guardian spirit transformations and Soul Cores return from previous games. The two combat styles do not share equipment, but you can switch between them anytime to handle situations differently.

Online multiplayer includes Summon Visitor mode where other players join to help you. Benevolent Graves summon NPC companions when playing solo. Demo progress carries over to the full game.
