📚 The Park Overview

The Park is a first-person psychological horror game set inside a creepy amusement park called Atlantic Island Park. The player controls a woman named Lorraine, who goes to the park at night searching for her missing son, Callum, who has lost his teddy bear. The game is one to two hours long and focuses on storytelling and exploration rather than combat or action. The story was written by a team of award-winning storytellers at Funcom.

Atlantic Island Park was opened in 1977 by an eccentric businessman named Nathaniel Winter. The park’s history is filled with freak accidents, grotesque killings, and ghostly hauntings that have repeatedly made sensational headlines. Locals believe the park has not finished claiming innocent lives. As players explore the park as Lorraine, they unravel both her personal story and the dark history of the park itself.

Players can step onto several actual rides inside the park, including the Ferris Wheel, the Bumper Cars, and the Rollercoaster. The Steam page warns that some of these rides appear to have a life of their own. The game is played entirely from a first-person view, and there are no weapons or combat mechanics of any kind. The entire horror comes from Lorraine’s worsening panic and paranoia as she moves deeper into the park alone at night.

The game is set within the same fictional universe as Funcom’s online game The Secret World, and Atlantic Island Park exists as a location in that universe as well. The Park takes the backstory of Atlantic Island Park from The Secret World and builds a separate standalone story around it. The Steam page carries a warning that the game deals with subject matter that may prove emotionally distressing to some players.

⚙️ Installation Instructions
