Digimon Survive – Month 1 Edition is a PC game on Steam that combines a visual novel with a tactical RPG. The main story follows a teenager named Takuma Momozuka, who gets lost on a school camping trip and finds himself in a strange world full of dangerous monsters. Players read and watch the story play out, then fight battles on a 2D isometric map where Digimon fight against each other. The Month 1 Bonus Pack is a downloadable content pack that requires the base Digimon Survive game to play, and it cannot be used without it.

The Month 1 Bonus Pack gives players three specific items. The first is Guilmon, who is an extra trainable monster that players can add to their team. Guilmon is categorised as a Free Monster, which means it is obtained without cost but uses Evolution items found during exploration or battle to evolve into stronger forms. Unlike partner Digimon, Guilmon and other Free Monsters cannot be devolved after they evolve, so players must think carefully before using those Evolution items on it.

The second item in the pack is the HP Support Equipment. When a player equips this item onto any monster in their team, that monster gets two specific bonuses: it recovers HP at the start of every turn in battle, and it receives a boost called Battle Backup+. These two bonuses together mean a monster with this equipment can stay in a fight longer without needing healing support from other units.

In the base game, players can persuade wild Digimon to join their team by talking to them during battles. The story has multiple endings, and the path the player reaches depends on how they interact with the other characters and Digimon over the course of the game. Player affinity with partner Digimon also controls which evolution forms those Digimon can access, so building a strong bond with them unlocks higher evolution options.

The game is split into four types of sections: Drama Parts, where the story is told as a text adventure; Search Action, where players look for ways to survive; Free Action, where players choose who to speak to during a set window of time; and Free Battle, where players can train their Digimon and collect items. The game was created for players who are 13 years and above, and it carries an ESRB rating of T for Teen, citing fantasy violence, mild blood, language, and crude humor.
