The Fidelio Incident is a single-player, first-person thriller set off the coast of Iceland. The game begins with a violent plane crash, leaving Stanley to search a desolate frozen island for his wife, Leonore. As he navigates the harsh environment, Stanley must also cover up any traces of their bloody Irish past. The urgency is heightened by the impending arrival of rescue help, making it crucial for Stanley to ensure their secrets remain hidden.

The inspiration for The Fidelio Incident comes from a mix of narrative-driven games and dark character dramas. The creators drew from titles like Dear Esther, Gone Home, and Firewatch, as well as TV shows such as Homeland, Lost, and The Americans. These influences contribute to the game’s focus on storytelling and character development. Additionally, the game takes inspiration from Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio, using its premise as a foundation for the backstory and reimagining it in a modern setting.

Ken Feldman, the art director of God of War 3, initiated this project in 2014 as a side endeavor. With the collaboration of Brandon Popovich and Christopher Davis, they formed Act 3 Games to develop and self-publish The Fidelio Incident on Steam. The team worked without external funding, showcasing their dedication and passion for the project.

The game features an original score by Michael Krikorian, comprising over 40 minutes of music. This score enhances the narrative by adding depth to the emotional and suspenseful moments. The Fidelio Incident’s music plays a significant role in immersing players into the storyline, complementing the game’s thematic elements and setting.

⚙️ Installation Instructions
