American Truck Simulator is a truck driving game for PC. You play as a driver who starts small in the local freight market. Over time, you build up your business and aim to run one of the largest transportation companies in the United States. The game follows a clear path from hired driver to full company owner.

The game takes place across California, Nevada, and Arizona. You drive past well-known landmarks and wide open roads in these three states. The scenery changes as you move between sunny California, sandy Nevada, and the Grand Canyon State of Arizona. Each state has its own look and feel on the road.

The trucks in the game are officially licensed from real truck manufacturers. You can change the cabin, chassis, paintjob, and engine on your truck. Tuning accessories can also be added to make the truck your own. The level of detail on each truck model is high, and the truck acts as your home base in the game.

Cargo plays a big role in how you play. You can haul food, machinery, and even hazardous materials. The variety of cargo types means you are not always doing the same kind of delivery. Some loads require more care than others, especially hazard cargoes.

The game is built on the same mechanics as Euro Truck Simulator 2, which was a very successful game from the same studio. American Truck Simulator expands on that base with new features.
