📚 The Plane Effect Overview

The Plane Effect is a single-player dark and dystopian isometric adventure game. The player controls a character named Solo. It is Solo’s last day at the office, and all he wants is to return home to his wife and daughter. A cosmic anomaly appears and puts Solo in a strange and frightening situation. He becomes helpless against an unknown force and must find a way back to his family.

As Solo moves forward, the city around him becomes more and more strange and confusing. The streets seem like a labyrinth that never ends. Solo must keep moving and cannot stop or turn back. A sinister presence follows Solo at all times. The player must navigate through elaborately designed otherworldly environments to keep Solo progressing toward home.

The game has intricate puzzles that the player must work through to move forward. Players can choose to figure out the puzzles on their own with no hints at all. Alternatively, they can turn on Assisted Mode, which provides a little guidance. This gives players a way to control how much help they want. The visual style of the game is stylised and cinematic, with a futuristic and noir-inspired look.

The Plane Effect is a time-and-mind bending experience. It has a Metacritic score of 68 from critics. The game includes 33 achievements for players to unlock. It supports 15 languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), and Thai.
