📚 Rauniot Overview

Rauniot is an isometric adventure game set in the aftermath of a massive natural disaster in 1975. The game unfolds in the scenic landscapes of Northern Finland, where the remnants of civilization struggle to survive. Pollution from nuclear power plants and warheads added to the devastation, leaving few survivors.

In this bleak setting, children born during these times often suffered mutations or were stillborn, adding to the tragedy. Fathers, left to fend for themselves, faced the grim reality of dwindling food resources, sometimes resorting to cannibalism. Despite the dire circumstances, some individuals managed to form groups, pooling resources like food, clean water, and medicine to sustain themselves.

Aino, one of the characters in Rauniot, is part of such a group. These groups strive to provide not just the essentials for survival but also electricity and knowledge, aiming for a better existence. The game’s narrative focuses on the balance between nature and humanity, as both strive to coexist in a changed environment.
