📚 Atomfall: Complete Edition Overview

Atomfall: Complete Edition is a single-player survival-action game set in a fictional version of 1960s northern England. The story is inspired by the real 1957 Windscale nuclear disaster. In the game, the disaster turned a large area of England into a sealed quarantine zone. Players wake up inside an abandoned bunker with no memory of who they are or how they got there. The goal is to explore the zone, talk to people, find leads, and uncover the truth about what happened at the Windscale plant.

The game is played from a first-person view. Players must scavenge supplies from ruined houses and abandoned locations. They can also build weapons and other items using collected materials. A metal detector is available to find hidden items buried underground. Players can barter with characters they meet inside the zone.

Combat uses a mix of shooting and hand-to-hand fighting. Guns and bullets are rare, so players must also use melee weapons like a cricket bat. Managing the player character’s heart rate is important during combat, as a high heart rate reduces aim accuracy. Stealth is also a valid option for getting past enemies without fighting.

The quarantine zone contains rolling hills, rural villages, natural caves, nuclear bunkers, cult-controlled ruins, and military camps. Characters living inside the zone belong to different factions, including cults and a strict military group called Protocol.

The Atomfall: Complete Edition includes the base game, two story expansion packs titled Wicked Isle and The Red Strain, and two Supply Bundles. Wicked Isle adds a new island region off the Cumberland coast. The Red Strain adds a new location called Test Site Moriah with new infected enemies. The Complete Edition also includes a fast travel network, a Phobias Safe Mode, and improved combat.
