Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is a single-player action and adventure PC game set in the dark fantasy land of Nosgoth. The player controls two characters: Kain, a powerful vampire, and Raziel, his betrayed former lieutenant. Both are armed with legendary blades and supernatural abilities. Their paths cross as they are drawn into a conflict between free will and fate.

The game takes the player across ruined cities, ancient temples, and towering strongholds. Environmental puzzles, challenging enemies, and long-buried secrets are found in these locations.

This Remastered version has been updated with HD graphics, modernised controls, and a new game camera. The player can switch between the HD version and the original classic presentation at any time. The game also includes a Photo Mode, a comprehensive lore reader, alternate character skins for both Kain and Raziel inspired by the Legacy of Kain series, and unreleased content and lost levels from the original game that were never included before. Alternate skins can be earned during gameplay.
